Rosemary Barling from NZ checked out the Smout family tree published on this site and made the following observation:
Hi Graham I believe you are my 3rd cousin twice removed according to my family tree! I was interested in news of your new website and have had a quick look at it. Re Mary Smout (nee Langson) wife of John Smout, coalminer, she actually died on 18th May 1874 age 85 years of "gradual decay of nature" I have a copy of her death certificate. Hannah Smout is the informant of the death (the address is 77 Hollwell Street which is where John and Mary's son Thomas and his family lived.) My greatgrandmother was Mary's youngest daughter Jane (age 7 in the 1841 census) who has been missed off altogether in your family tree. She married Joseph Dunton in 1854.
