Graham Smout.
Biographical details.
I was born in Swansea, South Wales, but my
father, Gilbert Smout, a civil engineer, is originally from the Midlands
town of Sedgely, near Wolverhampton
in Staffordshire. My Grandfather, Rowland Smout, was a teacher and Primary
School headmaster in the same area. He served in WW1 as a medical orderly on
the front line. My mother, Olive is from Coventry
in Warwickshire.
I grew up in South Wales and Gloucestershire, before moving to the coast
near Newcastle on Tyne
at the age of 9. I have twin brothers, Michael & Richard, three years my
junior. My retired parents still live near Newcastle, near my brother Mike & his
family. My other brother Richard now lives in Aberdeen.
I am a teacher in a Primary School in Yorkshire.
My responsibility is to develop ICT, and I have taught ICT for nearly ten
years. I married Ellie in 1985 and we have two children, Nick and Sarah.
We live a quiet Yorkshire farmhouse which we
have rebuilt from a near derelict state, a never ending task!
